Jealous hubby stabs man who offered him and wife a place to stay

TAWAU: A good deed turned fatal for a 30-year-old man when he was stabbed to death by a homeless cousin who he had invited into his house.
All was fine at first when the man took in the cousin and his wife but things changed when the cousin suspected that the good Samaritan was having an affair with his spouse.
The enraged 34-year-old cousin slipped into the man's room and stabbed him in the chest while he was asleep at Kg Hidayat here on Wednesday.
The victim sought the help of neighbours, who rushed him to hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.
Tawau police chief Asst Comm Ibrahim Chin said police had detained the suspect and recovered a vegetable knife.
“We believe the motive was jealousy as the suspect believed his wife was cheating on him,” he said.
Meanwhile, a man was seriously hurt after being beaten by a mob armed with iron rods and hammers at Jalan Damai here.
ACP Ibrahim said the group of men had an issue with the man who was earlier involved in a traffic mishap involving one of their friends.
Policemen, alerted by the commotion, had to disperse the mob by firing a shot in the air.thestar.
