Jais: Abuya’s widow earns RM800,000 from homes

A WIDOW of the late Al-Arqam leader Ashaari Muhammad allegedly rakes in RM800,000 a month, part of it from donations collected through orphans and inmates of welfare homes under her charge.
Khatijah Am, who is said to be operating her welfare and business activities from overseas, is allegedly using about 5,000 orphans and inmates from across the country to do her charity work.
Alleging this in a press statement that was carried by all mainstream Malay newspapers, Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) director Marzuki Hussin said these children did not study in national schools and their private education revolved around the teachings and life of Ashaari, referred to as Abuya.
Marzuki said Jais formed an inter-agency committee to monitor the management of orphanages in Selangor and to make sure they didn't veer from their objectives.

The centre is believed to have been illegally operating for six years.

> A business rivalry took a strange turn when an entrepreneur wedged a voodoo doll, wrapped in white cloth, in a doorway of his competitor's office premises, Harian Metro reported.
The voodoo victim, who wished to be known only as Datuk Ahmad, 55, said a business associate had called him at about 4.30pm on Tuesday to say that he was in for a shock.
Datuk Ahmad sought the help of an ustaz, who chanted supplications and praises of Prophet Muhammad to seek divine protection.
“Not long after that we saw an object wrapped in white burial cloth like a miniature corpse at the entrance of the office,” he said.
The ustaz told him it was a voodoo doll made of earth from a burial ground and placed there with evil intention.thestar
